The Bowl Pessary

The Bowl pessary, is used to relieve the mild uterine prolapse, a cystocele, or rectocele. This pessary may also be used on patients who suffer stress urinary incontinence.

The pelvic floor acts as a support for this pessary.

Bowl pessaries are available in a perforated version (sieve bowl pessary) which may facilitate the drainage of discharge

Sizes:

Range from 55 to 95 mm in 5 mm increments.

The pessary with the smallest diameter that supports the pelvis should be prescribed.
